Add Autoresponder to BotCommerce #

  • From the BotCommerce dashboard, go to the WhatsApp bot manager.

  • Choose the bot for which you want to collect emails.
  • If you have multiple bots, go to the configuration and click on the “New” button in the Autoresponder section to add a new Autoresponder.

  • The Autoresponder profile page will open in a new tab.

Configure Mailchimp in BotCommerce #

  • From the Autoresponder profile page, click on the “New” button.

  • On the right side, select the Mailchimp option.

  • Provide a profile name to identify it later.
  • You will need the API key from Mailchimp. Go to your Mailchimp account and from the dashboard, go to your profile and click on “API keys”.

  • Create a new API key by providing a name and clicking on “Generate key”.

  • Copy this key and paste it into the BotCommerce’s API key field. Assign a name to the API profile and click on “Save”.

  • Go back to the configuration and refresh the page. Then select the list to which you want to send the collected emails.

 

Create User Input Flow in the Bot: #

  • Go to the bot reply section and click on “Create”.

  • Create a user input flow bot to collect email addresses from subscribers.

  • Double-click on the start bot flow and enter trigger keywords. Give a name to the bot flow and save it.

  • You can add the user input flow anywhere in the bot. Add it at the beginning of the chatbot flow.
  • Drag a connector from the compose next message and leave the cursor. Select the user input flow, double-click on it, and select “Add a new flow”.

  • Provide a name for the flow. A question will be added automatically.

Configure the Question to Collect Emails #

  • Configure the question by choosing the question type as “Free keyboard input”.

  • Add the question to ask for the user’s email address and select the reply type as “Email”. This is crucial to ensure the email is saved to the email autoresponder.
  • You can also save this response in Bot Sailor’s custom or system field. Select the appropriate field and save it.

  • To complete the user input flow, add a final reply.

Save and Test #

  • Save the final configuration of the bot.

  • Test the bot to ensure everything is working correctly.

Verify in Mailchimp #

  • Go to the contacts list in Mailchimp to verify that the email has been added correctly.
