With BotCommerce’s WordPress plugin, you can send an automatic WhatsApp notification to your subscribers every time you publish a new post on your WordPress blog. In this article, you will learn the steps to install and configure this integration.
Create a WhatsApp Message Template
First, you need to create the message template that will be sent whenever you publish a new article.
Go to WhatsApp Bot Manager from the dashboard. Select an account. Go to the Message Template section, then click on the Create button and select WP Message Template.
Configure the template. Provide a name and select the Locale. In the message body, write the text. Click on WP variables to personalize it with elements from your article, like the post title and the post URL.
Save the template. After a few seconds, click on the Sync option to check if the Message template was approved by Meta. When approved, you can proceed with the broadcasting campaign.
Install the Content Automator plugin on your WordPress site
After creating the message template, you need to go to your WordPress website and install the BotCommerce plugin.
Download the plugin. Go to the WhatsApp Broadcasting section; there is a button to download the plugin. Click on it to save it on your computer.
Add the plugin on WordPress. After downloading the plugin, just install the plugin and activate it on the WordPress website.
Set up the Campaign on your WordPress Site
After installing the plugin, click on settings and select Content Automator. You will be taken to the settings module.
You need to add your BotCommerce API key. To get it, go to your BotCommerce dashboard. Click on your profile picture and select API Developer options. Click on generate API key.
Copy the API Key and paste it on the WordPress. Click on the Save API Key button.
Select your WhatsApp account from the dropdown list. Optionally, select a label to broadcast the message to a particular segment only. Keep it blank to broadcast for all your subscribers. Click on Save account.
Select the Message Template that you have created before. Finally, click on Save Template.
That’s all! Now, whenever there is a new blog post, a broadcast message will be sent to your subscribers. The message will have the title and the URL of the blog.
Check the status of the Broadcasting campaign from the WhatsApp Broadcasting section. The broadcasting message will be sent 30 minutes after publishing the new blog post.
